Haute Cabrière, a winery led by the von Arnim family, is deeply rooted in the heritage and community of the Franschhoek Valley.

The farm itself has a long history, dating back to 1694 when it was established by French Huguenot Pierre Jourdan. Founded in 1982 by Achim von Arnim, Haute Cabrière has become a prominent name in South Africa’s wine industry. The winery is known for its rich history, family-oriented approach, welcoming service, exceptional wines, and its stunning location at the top of the Franschhoek Valley. These elements combine to make it one of the country’s most beloved wineries.

The von Arnim family is committed to creating experiences for people to share through their remarkable wines. They explore Burgundian varietals through a combination of innovative blends and single-varietal wines, passing on their passion for winemaking from one generation to the next.

Franschhoek’s terroir, surrounded by mountains and shaped by varied soils and slopes, offers a unique environment for wine production. At Haute Cabrière, they embrace a philosophy of simplicity, avoiding over-manipulation of the fruit. Instead, they apply gentle techniques in the cellar to allow the true expression of their terroir to shine. By blending this with a passion for creativity and unconventional thinking, they produce a selection of wines from Franschhoek, featuring innovative blends and captivating single varietals to be enjoyed.

The wine has a great acidity and a fresh finish.”

“FOOD PAIRING: Fresh grilled kabeljou with a Asparagus and a lemon butter butter sauce.”
